It sure was fun to watch the Super Bowl last night. Why? Two reasons. First, if you weren't a hard-core Colts fan, you had to love this:
But mainly, it was this:
Rugby Dude (ok, I know this is a football picture ... but he did play rugby, too) is back home this semester, taking classes at the community college. He loved west Texas, but decided the college was not where he wanted to be for the long run. He's a huge football fan, and he, the Darling Builder and his friends had a great time. The traditional fajitas-at-halftime dinner took place and we followed up the game with another family tradition: Post Game Root Beer Floats. Don't ask me where that one came from. Some family tradition origins are shrouded in the mists of time. That's one of them.
I know each year brings more striking changes to our family these days as kids grow up, graduate, get jobs and apartments. But this Super Bowl Sunday, it was so nice to just do it all one more time.
